Ceiling Curtain Poles

Ceiling Curtain Pole Buyers Guide

Ceiling curtain poles use specially designed ceiling mounted curtain pole brackets to support your curtain rod. Because you need a top fix curtain pole it doesn’t mean you are limited in choice, we have a great range of finial options and colours to suit your interior.

Top Fix Curtain Poles

If you are looking for a ceiling mounted curtain pole, which is quite hard to find on the high street, then we are pleased to say there is a good range to choose from here. Whether you are ceiling fixing because you just don’t have the space for wall fixing, or if your preference is to have beautiful, full length, floor to ceiling curtains, we think you will find just the right curtain pole here to meet your requirements.

The options do tend to be limited however to a metal or oak curtain pole, with metal brackets, because of bracket design. The good news is that any length, including extra long (6m and over) can be ceiling fixed, no problem! If you have your heart set on a wooden curtain pole please do give us a call for advice.

How important is bracket size?

Knowing the dimensions of the ceiling fix brackets is often very important, and within the selected product you will find line drawings with dimensions. The length of the stem of the bracket is usually the all important measurement as this shows the distance from the ceiling that the curtains will hang. If the bracket is too long, unwelcome light may come in above the curtain.

If the bracket is too short, it may not be possible to use eyelet curtains as there may be insufficient space for the fabric above the eyelet. For example, Lunar 28mm ceiling brackets are great for curtains with heading tape, but not really suitable for eyelet curtains. But Strand 35mm, and Neo 28mm and 35mm ceiling brackets work perfectly for all curtains.

Fixing a top fix curtain pole

With most pole sets there will be either two or three ceiling brackets, depending on the length of your pole. As with curtain poles which are wall fixed, it is vital that you are able to get a good firm fixing for your ceiling mounted curtain pole.

Whenever possible we suggest fixing into the joists, but if that is not possible, the next best option is to use a really good plasterboard fixing that splays out once installed to help spread the load.

The finials cover the ends you have cut down so don’t worry too much about your cuts. If your curtain pole comes in two pieces just make sure you cut equal amounts off both poles!
